Holiday Homes Number 103, 104, 105 Disabled Access Statement

Holiday Home numbers 103, 104, 105 are 2010 Pemberton Elite and are 28’ X 12’ long and they are situated at the top left hand side of Caerddaniel Holiday Home Park looking from the beach, just off the main Barmouth to Harlech Road (A496). They are near Reception and very close to the Shop and Take-Away. They have one Double Bedroom, one Twin Bedroom, Kitchen, Living Room/Dining Area, Shower/Toilet, and Utility Cupboard. They have a narrow balcony which stretches along its length with the only door near the entrance point. A fully paved Parking Area is located right next to it.

These Holiday Homes are not specifically Disabled ones and therefore do not cater for wheelchair users, although those with walking difficulties would be able to use the Holiday Homes with little problems. Due to the gradient of the hill to the beach, those with walking difficulties would be strongly advised to use a car which would only take one minute to get to the beach, and a parking area is provided in the Recreation Field with access to the beach. Those without cars can ask at Reception for alternative arrangements.

The Balcony

The metal balconies are 22’ long and 36.5” wide and have two steps approx 8” high, with a hand rail on one side. There is also an outside light which shines on the balcony. (There is an 8.5” step at the back of 103 and only one 8” step to the balcony). The only exterior door is 28” wide.

The Entrance Area (1st Door)

The first door opens into an entrance area which is 35” wide which is adjoining the Bedrooms and Shower Room, and leads to the Kitchen. There is 1 ceiling light in this area. N.B Light switches are 53” off the floor throughout.

The Living Room

This area is quite spacious and has window seating at 18” high. The Flat Screen T.V/DVD and the Hi-Fi System are on a unit that stands 31” at its highest point, and both have a remote control. There is storage here, and also in the overhead units which start at 52” high. There are 3 ceiling lights, a lamp, and is brightly lit with natural light from the numerous windows that overlook the sea.

The Kitchen

The Kitchen area has work surfaces that are 35.5” high and overhead cupboards that are 58” high. The Microwave is on a separate unit and stands 50” high and is above the fridge. There is a toaster, kettle and other implements on the units near the 4 ringed gas cooker. A medium sized window throws good light into this area, which also has 3 ceiling lights. This room is adjoined to the living room by a corridor that is 27” wide at its narrowest, and has a large radiator.

Dining Area

The Dining Table is 29” high, and has surround seating 18” high and 1 stool 20” high. This area is combined with the Living Room.

Shower/Toilet Room

The door to this room is 23” wide. There asink at 33” high, with a small cupboard for toiletries above it at 51” high. The toilet is 16.5” high. The Shower Cubicle has a door width of 18” but overall dimensions of 39” X 25”. The shower area has overall dimensions of 72” X 40” excluding the shower cubicle. There are no aids inside. There is one ceiling light but is does have a window which gives off plenty of natural light. There is also a small radiator inside.

Twin Bedrooms

The width of the door to this room is 21” wide. There are two single beds which are 71” long and 28” wide which stand 21” off the floor. The gap between the single beds is 9” and there is a small unit which is 18.5” high. There are two ceiling lights with a switch above the bed. Storage is also available in overhead cupboards at 60” high, and there is a wardrobe at the end of one of the beds. There is also a small radiator in the room.

Double Bedroom

The width of the bedroom door is 23”. There is one double bed with units at 23” high on either side. There is one lamp and one ceiling light with a switch by the side of the bed. There is also a radiator. Storage is available in overhead cupboards at 56” high and a wardrobe.
